Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Flank application, website (flank.life), and all related services (collectively, the “Service”), provided by Fueld AI Ltd (trading as Flank), registered in England and Wales, with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ (“Flank”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By creating an account, accessing the Service, or using any feature of Flank, you (“you” or “User”) agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years of age to use Flank. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18 years of age, you confirm that you have obtained the consent of your parent or legal guardian to use the Service.
Flank is available globally. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Service complies with any laws or regulations applicable in your jurisdiction.
2. Account registration
To access the Flank Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- Keep your account credentials confidential and not share them with others.
- Notify us immediately at data_protection@flank.life if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not authorised by you.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts where we reasonably believe the information provided is inaccurate, or where there has been a breach of these Terms.
3. Service description
Flank is a personal AI coaching and productivity application designed to support daily self-reflection, task planning, and personal development through voice and text interactions. The Service includes:
- AI-powered coaching conversations (text and voice).
- Morning check-ins, evening reflections, task planning sessions, and general coaching.
- Quick Plan — instant AI-generated task planning.
- Auto-generated journals, insights, belief graph, and memory system.
- Telephony coaching calls — inbound and scheduled outbound calls to your registered phone number (on paid plans).
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We will endeavour to provide reasonable advance notice of material changes to paying subscribers.
4. Subscription plans and pricing
Flank offers three subscription tiers:

Prices are shown in British Pounds (GBP). For customers outside the UK, prices may be displayed in your local currency where available. The applicable exchange rate and any local taxes will be applied at checkout. All prices are inclusive of applicable UK VAT where required.
We reserve the right to change subscription prices. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of any price change to active subscribers before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after the price change comes into effect constitutes acceptance of the new price. If you do not accept a price change, you may cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.
Telephony fair usage
The Reflect plan includes telephony access subject to a fair usage policy (approximately 180 minutes per month). Flank reserves the right to apply usage limits or rate-limiting to prevent abuse of telephony features. We will notify users if their usage approaches or exceeds fair usage limits.
5. Billing and payment
Paid subscriptions are billed on a monthly basis. Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel. You are responsible for ensuring your payment information is accurate and up to date.
If a payment fails, we will attempt to notify you and may suspend access to paid features until payment is received. Flank does not store your full card details — these are held securely by Stripe.
All payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable law (including your statutory right to a refund where a digital service has not been provided as described). If you believe you have been charged in error, please contact us at data_protection@flank.life.
6. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation, your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period, after which it will not renew. You will retain access to paid features until the end of the paid billing period.
Flank does not offer prorated refunds for partial months unless required by applicable consumer protection law. If you cancel during a free trial period, you will not be charged.
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you have the right to cancel any purchase within 14 days of the date of purchase (“cooling-off period”) without giving a reason, unless you have expressly requested us to begin providing the digital service during this period. By activating a paid subscription and accessing paid features, you expressly request that we begin providing the service immediately and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal may be affected if the service has been fully performed within the cooling-off period.
7. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- Use the Service in any way that violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, our systems, or the accounts of other users.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Service without our prior written consent.
- Use the Service to transmit, distribute, or store material that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service, or attempt to extract source code.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation with any person or entity.
- Use the Service in a way that could damage, overload, or impair our infrastructure or interfere with other users' use of the Service.
- Share your account credentials with another person or allow others to access the Service through your account.
- Use the telephony features to make harassing, threatening, or abusive calls, or in any way that violates telecommunications regulations.
We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations of these Terms and, where appropriate, to suspend or terminate your access without notice.
8. Important notices — limitations and safety
Flank is not a crisis service
Flank is a personal coaching tool. It is not a mental health service, crisis hotline, or emergency service. When signals associated with serious distress are detected, Flank will stop coaching and signpost you to verified crisis support resources. This is a signposting function only — Flank does not provide crisis intervention and cannot keep you safe in an emergency. If you are in crisis or danger, contact your local emergency services directly — 999 in the UK, 911 in the US, 112 across the EU.
No clinical assessment or diagnosis
Flank does not diagnose, assess, screen, triage, or treat any medical or psychological condition. Conversations with Flank are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. AI coaching content is for personal reflection, motivation, and productivity purposes only. Always seek the advice of a qualified professional for any health concerns.
Crisis resource accuracy
We make every reasonable effort to keep crisis resource information (helpline numbers, text services, and website links) accurate and up-to-date, verifying sources quarterly against official government and NGO records. However, helpline numbers and services can and do change. If you encounter an incorrect or out-of-date number, please let us know at data_protection@flank.life. In any emergency, always call your local emergency services directly.
Data handling — safety analysis
Flank uses automated analysis to detect conversation patterns associated with distress and, where relevant, to signpost crisis resources. If our safety systems detect signals of serious concern, a flag is recorded in your session metadata for safety infrastructure purposes. No transcript content from these moments is extracted or stored separately, and no crisis content is added to your belief graph or auto-generated journal. Crisis flags are subject to the same deletion rights as all other personal data. See our App Privacy Policy (section 6) for full detail.
AI-generated content
Responses generated by Flank's AI coaching system may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information. Always exercise your own judgement and do not act solely on AI-generated content without independent verification where appropriate.
9. Intellectual property
The Flank Service, including its software, design, branding, and content, is the property of Fueld AI Ltd and is protected by copyright, trade mark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
Your content: You retain ownership of the content you input into Flank (e.g. your coaching conversation content, tasks, and notes). By using the Service, you grant Flank a limited licence to process and store your content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not use your personal coaching content to train AI models.
You must not reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on any part of the Flank Service without our prior written consent.
10. Third-party services
Flank integrates third-party services to deliver its functionality, including AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, xAI Grok), voice synthesis (ElevenLabs), telephony (Twilio), payment processing (Stripe), and cloud infrastructure (Google Firebase). Your use of the Service is subject to these third parties' terms and policies where applicable.
Flank is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content provided by third-party services. Where third-party service outages affect the Flank Service, we will endeavour to communicate this promptly but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.
11. Service availability
We aim to provide a reliable Service but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We will endeavour to perform planned maintenance outside peak hours and communicate disruptions in advance where possible.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
- Flank shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising under or in connection with these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, you may have statutory rights that cannot be limited by these Terms. These Terms do not affect those statutory rights.
13. Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You may delete your account from within the app or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately and without notice if we have reason to believe you have breached these Terms or if we are required to do so by law.
Upon termination, your licence to use the Service ends immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law) shall survive.

14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. For material changes, we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and may cancel your subscription.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms and any disputes arising from or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim.
If you are a consumer residing in the EU, you may also have the benefit of any mandatory provisions of consumer protection law in your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms affects your rights as a consumer under applicable mandatory law.
